Early Voting & Voting By Mail (Absentee Voting)

Early Voting

You can vote early (up to 30 days before an election day) at the early vote center, inside the Lucas County Shared Offices building in West Toledo. The address is 3737 W. Sylvania Ave (use “Entrance C”), and the hours it is open in February and March are pictured below. Click here to enter your address and get driving directions to the early voting center.

Vote by Mail/Absentee Voting

You can vote by mail before an election by requesting and receiving an absentee ballot. Once you’ve successfully sent in your request, you will receive an absentee ballot in the mail no earlier than 28 days before the election. For the ballot to be counted, you must have to postmarked no later than the day before the election and it must be received by the Board of Elections no later than 4 days following the election.

Also note that if you request an absentee ballot, do not return it, then attempt to vote in person, you will be required to complete a provisional ballot.

Click here to see the absentee ballot request form. Fill out the fields, click the “Download and Print” button at the bottom to print it, then mail it to the Board of Elections. Once your application is received, you will be sent your absentee ballot.

You will mail both your absentee ballot request form and your completed ballot to:

    • Jim – there is no primary in Toledo today because of the lack of candidates that applied to run and the absence of issues and levies. There will only be a general election in November and possibly a special election in August.
