When requesting a Republican Party ballot in the primary election, a voter will be permitted to vote on which candidates should represent the party for various offices in the November general election.

There are two contested races in the March 19 Republican Party primary election.


United States Senator

The United States Senator seat is elected every six years and works to enact federal laws and budgets through the United States Senate. The United States Senator works with the United States House of Representatives to form the US Congress, which is the nation’s legislative body. Their responsibilities include passing bills on public policy issues, raising and lowering taxes, and confirming the President’s appointments.

U.S. House (District 9)

The US House of Representatives (District 9) seat is elected every two years and works to enact federal laws and budgets through the US House of Representatives.
