The Mayor of Toledo is elected every four years and oversees the day-to-day operations of the city government. Their responsibilities include deciding how to spend the city’s money through the creation of a budget and appointing the people who run all the different departments of the city – including police, fire, and public utilities.

Like all city-wide elected offices, the Mayor’s race is non-partisan. This means that even though a candidate may be endorsed and supported by a political party, the party name will not be stated on the ballot.
