The Ohio Secretary of State is elected every four years and oversees official records of the state. Their responsibilities include overseeing elections, approving articles of incorporation for businesses, certifying government documents for use overseas, recording and maintaining the state’s legal records, licensing ministers to officiate weddings, and registering notaries.
Like all state-wide elected offices, the Ohio Secretary of State’s race is partisan. This means that each candidate has their party affiliation listed alongside their name on the ballot. Independent candidates will be stated as having no party affiliation.
