The Lucas County Sheriff is elected every four years and is the chief law enforcement officer for the county. Their responsibilities include serving papers, overseeing jail operations, transporting prisoners, providing court security, and general law enforcement.
Like all county elected offices, the Lucas County Sheriff’s race is partisan. This means that each candidate has their party affiliation listed alongside their name on the ballot. Independent candidates will be stated as having no party affiliation.
